There is a lot of music using various seasons as inspiration.  I like to crank up the tunes and start creating.

One day, after a visit to my favorite store, Boeing Surplus, I came home with a big, wood-framed chalkboard that we prominently attached to the wall by our phone. Back then, the family was young and we needed a way to organize our life.  Between sports, travels, school and work activities, we were going in 15 different directions.  A solution was needed. So, this new chalkboard was our answer, covered in schedule information, phone numbers and little-by-little, small art drawings and colorings, it became our message board. And in time, it became the neighborhood place to come and scratch out things with chalk, creating interesting designs. The information portion shrank as the girls got older and the artwork became more and more a prominent feature of the chalkboard.

Skip ahead a few years and we moved to a house where the chalkboard  hangs in the gallery hallway in full view from the kitchen. Everyone who comes over has to check out the chalkboard to see what art work emerged this season. I try to keep it interesting and fresh with new inspired art taken from current activities, celebrations, and other inspirations.  It is fun to come up with something new, to create with images and color….I kind of feel like a kid again….. Enjoy.

Be it a fresh new year, or a changing season, there is always creative ways to express events. Here a few of my favorites….

Fall and spring bring out the colors but winter and summer have a huge variety in designs.
